Video Game Addiction

The main idea of the video games report is that there are a lot of people (preteens) addicted and they waste their time on these things, and also they don’t know if the video games are affecting their brains or not, because they think it is just a video game.

However, not only the preteens are playing video games; maybe the teenagers do so more than children. But nowadays we see that the preteens are feeling excited and spend their time on them. Some of the preteens or most of them play even more and the parents should keep them from any kinds of this game and don’t let them focus and spend more of their time on these games because it might be very dangerous for themselves and their eyes.

In addition, parents should choose some different activities like reading stories, participating in any competition and sports (soccer, riding horse, swimming……etc) and there are more activities for the preteens to avoid video games, although they should let them play a video game but not all the time. And of course everybody knows that if someone is an addict in something it will be a big problem because they cannot stay away from it, and the parents should put an alternative about the video games because if you find an alternative they will play different kinds of games.

Reality Bytes, Two Myths About Video Games Debunked

According to the author Henry Jenkins of the video games, the technology of video games is becoming more and more complicated because there are a few that are going to be more dangerous. For example, nowadays those games will affect minds and behavior.

The author gave eight important points; one of these points is youths are destroying their brains because the games are more violent and that’s why the adults are behaving badly, and there is a percentage about who cares about those games more; 90 percent of boys and 40 percent of girls play them.

The second point is a good point and it’s talking about the specific scientific evidence connecting the violent games with the adults age; this point is talking about the adults who cannot differentiate between fun and aggression because, based on earlier productions, they can no longer differentiate between what is violent or safe, although it can affect their behavior in the society and it could be dangerous.

Hedley’s trip to the Niah Caves

30 years ago, Hedley and his wife with their elder daughter set out early morning and traveled from Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB) the capital of Brunei to the Niah Caves in East Malaysia by car and small boat.
They crossed two large rivers by ferry and stopped in Miri for lunch and arrived at sunset and they stayed with their new friends who they met and slept in a government rest house. Next morning, they went to the Niah caves; inside the caves they saw men climbing poles in order to scrape birds’ nests off the roof of the caves.

In the afternoon, they said goodbye to their new friends and drove back home; they felt it was a very nice trip.
